Early Life

Demetrius Toliver, better known as Money Meach, is a American rapper and recording artist from Buffalo, New York. His journey into music began after his release from prison in 2008, where he served 36 months in the New York State Department of Corrections. During that time, Meach started writing lyrics, inspired by the introspective style of Queensbridge legend Nas.

Upon returning home under five years of post-supervision (parole), Meach reconnected with his childhood friend “KPJ” also known as J-Batters who owned a recording studio and independent label, Take Money Entertainment. That partnership became the spark for Meach’s entry into the hip-hop scene.

In 2009, he was featured on J-Batters’ mixtape “Do It for the Streets 3,” officially introducing him to listeners. The following year, he dropped his debut solo mixtape “Rear View Life,” earning early recognition for his raw storytelling. He soon followed up with “Super Star Lifestyle,” proving his dedication to his craft.

Despite losing close friends to prison and gun violence, Meach remained focused, using music as both therapy and purpose. His early years laid the foundation for a career built on resilience, realness, and the grind it takes to rise from the struggle.
